Hi, I am Laura.

Salt caverns have excellent geochemical properties to serve as underground storage for gases. However, the potential oxidation of stored H2 by microorganisms is an important but less studied aspect. It could lead to corrosion of facility infrastructure and pollution of the gases stored. I will investigate these microbial communities using stable-isotope probing and next-generation sequencing technologies.

Hello, I am Bala.

As a molecular microbial ecologist and geneticist, I am interested in exploring the mechanisms behind the ecosystem services provided by microbes. My focus includes studying the role of microbial communities in nutrient cycling and investigating host-microbe relationships in various ecosystems.

Hello! My name is Zander.

My research is focused on gaining a better understanding of the structure and function of microbiomes in different environments. I have a particular interest in microbes that play a role in the iron cycle, as well as the metallophores they produce during this process. Additionally, I study factors that shape bacterial and fungal communities in forest ecosystems and their functions in these soils.
