Contents | Symptoms, diagnosis and therapeutical approaches for diseases that are associated with defects in ion channel function. In particular, we will teach basics in molecular medicine and physiology related to so-called channelopathies. |
Learning and qualification objectives | Structure and function of relevant transport proteins and their impact for cell function. Pathophysiological mechanisms. Diagnosis and therapy of diseases linked to ion channel defects. Practical teaching: Research-oriented measurement and quantitative analysis of transport processes relevant for select diseases. Seminar: Theoretical preparation, analysis and graphical and verbal presentation of the results. |
Requirements for admission to module exam | Active participation in seminar (oral presentation) and practical training. |
Requirements for the award of credit points; exams (weighting of grades in %) | Oral exam on the contents of lecture, seminar and practical training (100%). |
